Happy Father’s Day!

The third Sunday of June every year is Father’s Day. Almost the whole world will show love and gratitude to their fathers on this special occassion.

Here is the history of Father’s Day :

In the US, the first modern Father’s Day celebration was held on July 5, 1908, in Fairmont, West Virginia. It was first celebrated as a church service at Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South, now known as Central United Methodist Church. Grace Golden Clayton, who is believed to have suggested the service to the pastor, is believed to have been inspired to celebrate fathers after the deadly mine explosion in nearby Monongah the prior December. This explosion killed 361 men, many of them fathers and recent immigrants to the United States from Italy. Another possible inspiration for the service was Mother’s Day, which had recently been celebrated for the first time in Grafton, West Virginia, a town about 15 miles away.Another driving force behind the establishment of the integration of Father’s Day was Mrs. Sonora Smart Dodd, born in Creston, Washington. Her father, the Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, as a single parent reared his six children in Spokane, Washington. She was inspired by Anna Jarvis’s efforts to establish Mother’s Day. Although she initially suggested June 5, the anniversary of her father’s death, she did not provide the organizers with enough time to make arrangements, and the celebration was deferred to the third Sunday of June. The first June Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, in Spokane, WA.Unofficial support from such figures as William Jennings Bryan was immediate and widespread. President Woodrow Wilson was personally feted by his family in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge recommended it as a national holiday in 1924. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made Father’s Day a holiday to be celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The holiday was not officially recognized until 1972, during the presidency of Richard Nixon. In recent years, retailers have adapted to the holiday by promoting male-oriented gifts such as electronics, tools and greeting cards. Schools and other children’s programs commonly have activities to make Father’s Day gifts. (Sources by Wikipedia)

My father is working outstation every now and then, yet it doesn’t influence our relationship between each other. This year’s Father’s Day, I am not be able to celebrate with him and I would like to present him a Father’s Day Poem.

” Daddy, thank you for the greatest effort, love, tiredness, and patience for the family. We love you always! ”

 Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to my dear Dad!

As you have loved me, so have I loved you,

Pleased to tell you, now that words are due,

Pleased to have this chance to make you glad.

Your years of love and sacrifice have had

For me the force that you would wish them to,

A wind that takes me home to harbors new,

The inner voice in clothes familiar clad.

How might I be myself, except I see

Each gesture in the mirror of your grace,

Remembered as it was when long ago,

Ere I knew why, I looked to you for love?

So am I of you inextricably,

Defined by trends not difficult to trace

As I grow into someone that I know,

Yet myself in ways that time will prove.

June 11, 2007 · 1 Comment

Rose is a fragrant flower that will make almost all the ladies fall for it. Roses is not only just flower. It can turns into tea. I think it is quite common nowadays for rose tea. Recently, I love tea. Since I am still young, I like to try out everything to keep my beauty and look young always like all the ladies outside will do, haha! Rose tea can cure constipation, make your skins smoother and fairer, burns down fat and etc.

Peppermint is also known as mint. Do you know what is the benefit of drinking peppermint tea? The menthol is contained in peppermint that can heal some diseases. Mint tea can cure diarrhea, headache, vomitting and more. For your knowledge, mint tea even help to control mild asthma. Try to have a cup of peppermint tea when you feel cold or stress, this tea will absolutely makes you feel better.

Licorice or liquorice is known as a type of Chinese herbal. In the earlier China, the Chinese used licorice as medicine. The medicinal use of licorice is to heal stomachache, ulcers, hormone, coughing and more. Licorice is also found to be an anti-cancer medicine. Please take note that licorice contains toxic that will harm the liver and cause hypertension if you take more than required.

This beauty tea ( Rose, Peppermint, Licorice Tea) benefits ladies outside. Try and drink it, you will feel the difference!

Methods:

Boil some hot water. Get a spoon of the above three ingredients into a cup. Pour about 400ml hot water over them. Leave it for 5 minutes to flavor the tea. You can enjoy your tea after that.

For the second cup of tea, please repeat the first step but you have to leave it for 20 minutes to flavor the tea. As for the third time, the herbal should be flavorless already.

** Best to buy the above three herbal and mix it together. Store in fridge with a container.

** The best time to drink the three-flavoured-tea is night time. Don’t worry, they are caffeine-free and won’t stay you up the whole night long!

10 Problems Teenagers Faced

June 7, 2007 · Leave a Comment

 1. Stress

Teenagers will feel stress when studying, why? It is just because of their parents, teachers, and friends. Whose parents on the earth don’t want their children to get an execellent score in exams? Some parents will force their children to study and said, “Don’t ever be lazy! Don’t lose to the Ah Boy or Ah Girl next door! How many times I have to tell you to be hardworking! And see what kind of result you getting?” Well, as for myself being a teenager, parents will always mumble beside my ears, honestly, I dislike that. The teachers in school will always compare to each other about their class. How excellent their students can score. This will bring a great stress for the students that are being forced to get an “A”. Teenagers like challenges. They like to challenge with their mates whether in studies, sports or anything else. That’s why, as teenagers, studies bring us what a good depression!

 2. Relationship / Dating

To love or be loved?? Some teens don’t even know what love means! Haha! Adults will say, ” You are still young, you shouldn’t involved in any teenage relationship. You should focus in your studies and get a good result.” This is the expectation from most of the adults to the teens.  I have read an article about the relationship of teenagers. Teenage dating is one of the way to let the teens grow up maturely. They need a closer friend to grow with them, share their problems together. It does help out! But make sure you will love at the right way, haha!

 3. Fighting / Bullying

Do you know that 70% of teens have very bad-tempered? Do you think only the guys will fight with each other? Girls do fight… Now, how they fight?? Haha.. There’s a joke about it. Girls fight by tearing each other’s skirt and pulling each other’s hair. Haha, how funny!! Well, normally there are many gang of so called “gangsters” in the school. They always think that they are HERO, but actually is ZERO. The act of bullying the weak and young ones disgusted me. They are just trying to show off and inspire more students to join them. I am wondering do they ever think of people bully them back?? It’s kinda cool, haha….

  4. Drugs & Alcohols

Teens would always like to try out something new & fresh. No doubt about it. It has been most serious and it happened everyday in the world that teens get drugs. Once they are addicted, that’s it, they are mad about it! Some of the teenagers have the silly thought that they will be free in THIER world after taken drugs. They are absolutely wrong about it! Basically, what made them go for the dangerous drugs? Like I said, teens like challenges. They receive challenges from their friends, and they try it. Since then, they are into it, can’t help themself out. I am so sympathy for them. As for alcohol, teens will always think it’s okay to drink it and never ever think of the consequences when they are drunk! They could do ANYTHING when the addiction strike. The teens thought the drugs and alcohol are the best friends in their parties. When you addicted to them, you lose your self-controlness. I found a saying “You don’t choose addiction – Addiction chooses you.” That’s how drugs and alcohols ruin a teen’s colourful life!

 5. Smoking

Smoking seems to be a very normal culture among the teens nowadays. They have zero knowledge about health. The poor thinking of catching people’s attention flows in the mind of smoker, that’s the reason why they are addicted. Frankly, quite a number of my friends are having this bad smoking habit. I have tried to do a research on the smoker, asking them the reasons of smoking. Well, personally I am quite disappointed with their answers. I found that their reasons are just rubbish. “It’s cool, release my stress, follow my friends, already addicted when the first time I went for it, my dad smoke with me….” all sort of stupid reasons from my friends. They have been silly I think, they are trying to challenge their life with just a short moment of enjoyment. 90% of my friends don’t scare of lung cancer, how brave are all my friends! Nevermind, they will pay for it one day…

 6. Lack of Money

Why do I said so? Haha.. Actually, I have encountered such problem before. Teens got alot of stuffs to buy. We follow trendy, hang out with friends, buy this and that. The pocket money that parents give out monthly or weekly, cannot satisfy us, haha. Some teens even go and steal the parent’s or friend’s money, it is really bad action. So any teens need money out there, do try to look for a part-time job to earn yourself a living. As for me, I have been a tutor to primary school students for 2 years to get my pocket money. Well, I just can tell you from my experience, the process of earning money and use the money meaningfully will bring great joy to you!

 7. Clubbing

” Tired of studying?? Let’s have a break! Let’s dance in the club!!” What!! Tired of studying then need a dance in the club?? You are absolutely wrong then! There are many ways to relax instead of clubbing. You can do some scrapbooking, go for your favourite sport, blogging like me,haha, and so on.  When clubbing, the teens will get to know more so called “friends”, yes, it’s true they are friends in front of you, and are they a ”horny wolf” at the inside, we do not know somehow! Life is full of unexpected things, so do watch out when you are entertaining yourself in the club, make sure you won’t screwed up by the others!

 8. Car Accidents

When you are the age to drive, are you desperate to drive? To be frank, I am desperate because I got my car license and I can drive wherever I wana. It’s a happy thing to get your license. All the teens LOVE driving, they can fetch their friends to town, go wherever they wana. It sounds enjoy but becareful. From my knowledge, teens like to drive very fast even rece with their friends, that is the reason why so many car accidents are caused by the youngsters. Please drive safe everyone!

 9. Teen Parents

The news of teenage pregnancy seems to be common in this century. Can you imagine a 15-year-old teen go to school with a big tummy? Goodness, what’s on earth?? It’s very suffering at the time of teenagehood to have a baby to care with while all of your friends out there enjoy their teenage life. You can’t help with it, yet to take care of you baby at home everyday! Somemore I heard of abortion, I am very upset about this. A baby is a precious life, and you just abort it like nothing, just because you did something immorality? Every single life is very precious, don just let the innocent life disappear from the world. Meditate thoroughly before you act!!

 10. Family Problems

Some teens faced a depression from their family problems. For example, the parents divorced, the siblings involved in crimes and more. Teens that grow up in this kinda of family background effects their growing, no matter physically or mentally. Mentally problem will be more to occur. They are lack of love, lack of friends, lack of communications also, so they got less friends. You know friends play a main role  They can do things that are out of expectations such as suicide, do things that are hurting other people. Do care and love for your family members, let the teens grow up cheerfully, healthily in a good environment.
